I read a very cool article by psychologist Richard Wiseman about being a lucky person.
He ran a bunch of experiments, surveys, all that cool stuff.
His end result? Basically… Law of attraction – who would have guessed?!
He says that luck comes from believing that you are lucky, being in touch with your emotions, having a positive outlook, and knowing that everything that happens is for the best.
He mentions he ran a “Luck School” to help people be more lucky.
In that light, I’m thrilled to offer a 2 free week course by email on those factors.
It’s loads of fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
There’s a little more info here if you want.

Try this amazing technique if you want to improve your visualization and be able to focus better on your goals.
This post is inspired by Cybernetic Transposition by Stuart Lichtman – an awesome book for gaining alignment! (aff link, since it’s great!)

I don’t know why exactly it took so long for it to click… all of LoA, alignment, beliefs, etc is about this:
1) Your non-conscious controls 90%+ of your actions. You can’t do much. So stop trying to use willpower and force actions, you can just relax. Just get out of the way. Allow yourself to enjoy and feel good.
2) But I want stuff! What do I do? Tell your subconscious what you want. Reprogram the auto-pilot to your liking. Visualize, use a pray-rain journal, afformations, etc.
3) Allow yourself to feel your emotions and clean them up. You can do that just by facing and feeling them instead of the usual running away. Melting old beliefs helps, too.
(Rinse and repeat.)
I was stuck on step 1 – I was trying to keep and follow a to do-list, and have really well defined goals – all of them. Silly me! I mostly neglected step 2, or when I was doing it, I was trying too hard to make sure I did it right. I didn’t let go and get out of the way.
Step 3 I’ve been getting much better at. I really love using Sedona for that.
What’s your story?

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”~C.G. Jung (via @miaverstraete)
The LoA approach is to focus on what you want. Sometimes, that’s a bit difficult – in that case, the common is to feel better (choose a better feeling thought) or to focus more on what you want.
I often find that difficult – shoving aside negative feelings or thoughts, and trying to move to the light.
Instead, I often try to just be aware and notice the negative that already exists in my vibe. I’m not activating a negative vibe – it’s always been there – I’m merely turning the light on. As I stop repressing it and running away from it – when I simply notice it and say “Huh, it’s interesting that that’s here!” it starts to lose it’s hold on me. Now that I’m aware, I can face it head on without being vaguely bothered by something.
It’s similar to a written process from Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain- take a piece of paper and write “Why can’t I get what I want?” and allow the thoughts to come to mind. Sit with your list and see which ones really resonate with you. You can release on those, but the very fact that you notice resistance will begin to let it go.
How do you deal with resistance?

When we plan to accomplish something, we want to do it in the best way. “Work smarter, not harder” is the approach to go by, supposedly.
But sometimes.. the smarter way just isn’t fun. For example, I enjoy reading books about personal development. I also am impressed with many speed reading processes, specifically photoreading. With lots of practice (which I haven’t done) they start to feel second-nature, but as of now, it often seems like an annoyance. By sticking to “I want to work smarter” and do things effeciently, I just “killed” the joy of reading – and by trying to be more efficient, I started avoiding it!
So yes, it may be slower… but can you plan a way that’s more enjoyable?
Instead of asking “how can I do this in the smartest, most effecient way?” ask “how can I do this so that I enjoy and it raises my vibe?”
What have you been putting off because you felt you should do it a certain way, even though you would love to do it in your own way? Here’s your permission to pursue it in your own way! If you have specific examples, please share!

It’s not hard to get caught up in acquiring a skill or pursuing some goal, and forget the real reason that we want to do something.
Sometimes we get locked into a particular way of manifesting our goal, but have completely forgotten about the real reason. There are many detriments to this…
- We lack the emotional strength of the original, real, true, deeper, inspiring goal
- When we finish, we may find the accomplishment empty and wonder why we really bothered with that goal
- We close ourselves off to better ways of accomplishing our goal
- If we never really touch the deeper goal, we may be mistaken and be focusing on something totally off! Only upon further investigating and delving in, we can find what we really care about.
- When we find the real deeper drive, new ideas and ways to pursue the desired feeling become evident.
I strongly encourage you to take a moment – or several – and look at your current goal, what you are focusing on, writing a Pray Rain Journal on, or anything similar – and ask: “What’s the purpose? What does accomplishing this give me? Then, what does THAT give me?”
I did this a few days ago with someone, and kept asking the same question about 5-6 times and got to peace. The “goals behind the goals” (as Jamie Smart says) are things like freedom, peace, tranquility, happiness, fulfillment, and love.
Don’t get stuck on a means goal, when the real emotional experience that you want is really up the chain – you want x, because you want y, because y gets you z. When you focus on the real end goal, you get the better feeling vibration, and maintain the motvation for your real goal.
If you try to learn google adwords marketing, so that you can make an income by making a list and selling affiliate products, so that you can then quit your job, so that you can then enjoy time with your family or focus on your passion- but you focus only on “it feels good to know I can do google adwords marketing” all you may feel is “so what?”
Allow yourself to choose a goal you are focusing on. Ask yourself what accomplishing it gets for you. Ask what that gets for you. Now, you can focus the real desired feeling and goal and watch it manifest much faster and more enjoyably!

I listened to a podcast yesterday about accountability partners. I’ve never had one, but the idea sounds very good. In short, an accountability partner is someone that you meet with regularly who makes sure you are taking action. The point is to have someone that keeps you honest about taking action, and perhaps even inspire anxiety or guilt to push you to do the things you committed to. But with the law of attraction, this isn’t how we try to be productive.
The most important part is that you feel good, so what an accountability partner would be for, in the law of attraction sense, would be to help you feel good about your particular goal.
I suppose, it’s almost like mutual coaching. What you need is someone who is supportive of your vision or someone who simply believes YOU can apply the LoA. For me, one of the hardest parts of working on any project or working towards any goal is simply staying focused on it. It’s not so hard to create the dream the first time, or just think about it, but to really put your emotional attention on it, and to feel good about it that takes some focus. Seriously, one of the biggest problems with getting into your new story is to keep up telling the new story. So what a visionary/inspiration partner would do is simply make sure that you are still in alignment with your goal, over the long term. Sounds funny, but they don’t have to listen to a word you say, only your feeling behind it. When you get to higher vibe things, they could encourage you to dwell on it. If you are both familiar with something like The Work or Releasing, they could guide you through some quick exercises if needed.
I know it happens to me all the time. It happened this morning, actually. Yesterday I spent some time playing with WordPress plugins (twitter integration, related posts, etc), and saw someone charging $500 as a package deal for doing WordPress updates. I said “Hey, I could do that!” But already this morning I started thinking about all the annoying parts of it, and it’s hardly as appealing as yesterday. But since it’s not my core focus – personal dev- I’m going to simply let it go for now.
Your job, as with any goal, is to continue telling your story to your partner the way you want it to be. Do this often enough – aligning with your goal – it must be getting closer.
If your partner doesn’t hear your alignment, they can ask you what’s really cool about that or what has gone amazing recently. I’m sure there are some really
I suppose here’s the accountability part of having a partner: you have a set time, either every day or every week, to make sure that you keep reentering into alignment!
I just made this all up, so if you have any experience with doing something like this, please share!
